Advice on Friendships – Proverbs 18

Advice on Friendships - Proverbs 18

As with all the Proverbs, there is so much to choose from in today’s reading. For me, two verses about friendships jumped out at me:

19 It’s harder to make amends with an offended friend than to capture a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with iron bars.

24 There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.

Ever had a “friend” destroy you? Real friends are hard to find – so this is a good reminder for me to make every effort to stay in touch. As I write this, I’m reminded of several friends I need to call or email.

And, there’s my friend, Jesus – the friend that laid down His life for me. There is no better friend.

peace,
e
