Our Lives A Sweet Fragrance To God – 2 Corinthians 2

Our Lives A Sweet Fragrance To God - 2 Corinthians 2There’s some beautiful poetry in this chapter:

14 But thanks be to God, who made us his captives and leads us along in Christ’s triumphal procession.

14b Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume. 15 Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those being saved and by those perishing. 16 To those who are perishing we are a fearful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved we are a life-giving perfume.

Ever been ostracized for being a Christian? Ever been insulted because you were always “so happy”? Those who are perishing can’t stand it. To them, it stinks.

Press on, Christians! Be caught loving and living life to the fullest, rejoicing and praising God in Christ’s victory parade! There are some who just will never get it. Pray for them – that God would break through the walls and soften their hearts.

God, may what we do be a sweet fragrance to You and to our fellow believers today!

peace,
e

Well said! So many passages remind us that we who are disciples of the Master are the living representation of Him. What was true of Him must become true of us. And our Christ-aroma must waft beyond believers to be a fragrance detected by unbelievers. That will mean taking up his cross and following Him out of our buildings and into the streets to engage and confront our culture. Have a look at dwhitsett.wordpress.com
