I found Psalms 109 very interesting. I frequently use crosswalk.com for my online Bible needs. When I pulled up Psalms 108, I saw this:
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
In this Psalm, David writes about men who have spoken against him. He calls them wicked and deceitful. As you may already know, David is well-known for not taking on his enemies on his own, but rather he trusted God to carry out his vengeance.
This “song” from David is no different. He asks God to deal with these men, and the children of these men. Rather descriptive I might say.
Apparently us “directors of music” share something in common.
All kidding aside – I really enjoy reading about David. What a man of God. If you’re not familiar with the story of Daivd, I would encourage you to read through 1 and 2 Samuel in the Old Testement. Or, you can check out my ramblings about him on this blog. You’ll find out why he’s the only Bible “hero” that God calls “a man after my own heart.” How amazing is that.
Lord, make me more like David. Make me more like You.
grace & peace,
